2017 ends wet & windy across Ireland and UK

We’re just hours away from saying goodbye to 2017 and hello 2018. It’s turned milder in the last few days following the season’s biggest snowfall to date thanks to the arrival and speedy departure of Storm Dylan.

As the afternoon wears on, winds ease and sunshine returns but into tonight, expect blustery showers and a cool feel, so wrap up warm.

As one low (Dylan) departs, another moves into Scotland during New Years day while a deeper low crosses N France/S England at the same time. Reasonable in between.

We would all like to wish you a Happy New Year!
