Truthfully, I’m holding back on my thoughts for winter 2017-18 as it’s early, there’s so much going on in the tropics and there’s a lot of variables including the high likelihood of a La Nina.

A La Nina can bring various winter conditions but I can see how the CFSv2 calls for a ridgy December followed by dominant Icelandic low Jan/Feb. Not the best for us coldies.

Forecast for winter 17-18

CFSv2 isn’t the most reliable and when your still talking months away, I’d take the below with a big pinch of salt but it’s plausible given the likely La Nina.
