The Eastern heat peaked yesterday with multiple records melting including an impressive 101 degrees recorded at New York’s LaGuardia Airport while Newark on the other side of the city wasn’t far behind with a record 99 degrees.

LaGuardia’s 101 was said to be the 16th warmest day in it’s history. Records date back to 1939.
