2 Highly Anomalous ‘Atmospheric Wheels’ Drive Mid-Atlantic Air Into Arctic, Siberian Air Across Europe

The entire Northern hemispheric pattern has went to the extreme with two distinctive, highly anomalous features or ‘atmospheric wheels’ bringing a weird, wild and wacky weather pattern. Could it be colder in the UK than the North Pole by Friday?

Even before the meat of the cold arrives, it’s chilly enough for snow over Scotland today where the MO has Yellow warnings in effect.

The first ‘atmospheric wheel’, the Atlantic weather bomb which caught our attention yesterday with it’s 49mb pressure drop within 24 hours and central pressure of 929mb is pumping subtropical, mid Atlantic warmth into the Arctic, jacking up the temperature some 25+C above normal while the still strengthening secondary ‘wheel’, a near 1050mb high centred over southern Finland is dragging bitter Siberian air in a reverse easterly flow.

As the cold continental air retrogrades westward into the UK late week, chance potential grows down the eastern side of the UK with strengthening easterly winds.
