Central, Eastern and indeed increasingly SOUTHERN Europe is under a major Arctic/Siberia cold outbreak all the while Atlantic air keeps the UK balmy.
Almost the entire far north of Eurasia dropped below -35C last night with many getting to -45C or below.

Arkhangelsk and Koynas (both European Russia) hit -41.3C and -47.6C respectively which was both their coldest since January 1999!

For some Slovakian mountain sites such as Lomnický štít, this morning’s -28C was coldest since January 1987!

It got down to -21.3C in Poland this morning but it’s sure to be a lot colder this weekend.

As Siberian air charges WSW likely a military force, heavy, crippling snows are breaking out from Italy’s coast to Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania.
