What an open to December in the wake of a record warm fall. The 1st of three major cold blasts to sweep into the Lower 48 has already left it’s mark by driving Casper, WY to initially -31 (coldest reading since Feb 2006) and then -33 an hour or so later, making for the coldest low in 25 years!

It appears the core of the cold is over North Dakota this morning.
