As forecast, the Scottish Highlands have received their first widespread covering above 3,000ft thanks to the passage of a cold front overnight which brought heavy and persistent rain for a time. Winds veered northwesterly and this drove in our first real push of ocean modified Greenland air.
This morning is more like late October.

With high pressure centred over Ireland and low pressure over the North Sea, you’ll find an east-west split mid to late this week with breezy, showery, cool conditions favouring eastern England while it’s calm, sunny and pleasant over central and western UK and Ireland. Rural frosts likely by night.

HURRICANE NICOLE: Bermuda picks up the pieces while Greenland likely to have epic dig out!
Nicole is no longer a Hurricane but remains a force to be reckoned with as it’s projected to drive a tremendous amount of tropical moisture in over Greenland and that means an epic snowstorm! All the while the UK gets beneath a high!
