We have a strong upper ridge over the Canaries extending into Iberia while we have an unusually deep summer low approaching Scotland which has forced two very different warnings on either end of Western Europe. Here in Scotland our weather turns from warm sun this AM to gales and rain this evening/tonight.

Meanwhile, on the opposite end of Western Europe it’s HOT across Spain and Portugal. Sure, you’d expect that for early August right? SW Spain and the interior of south/central Portugal expects 42-44C today.
