W EUROPE: It’s ‘Transient’ Business As Usual Following Brief Surge Of Summer!

It’s business as usual following the very short lived heat surge with thundery breakdown as the next Atlantic front ploughed into the warm, humid air.

Did you notice the much fresher feel and consequential drop in temperature as a result last night? Atlantic air is back and with sunshine, it warms nicely but it’s less humid.

The northward push of Moroccan air was simply a south, southeast flow driving hot continental air north between lows. The pattern remains unchanged overall with Icelandic lows continuing to cross NW of Scotland where here it’ll remain periodically wet, windy and cool while always that bit drier, sunnier and warmer over England and Wales.

The CFSv2 keeps the same pattern going into early August.
