The weather remains active across the continent with an unusually deep and cold trough swinging through. A boundary draped N-S over eastern Europe triggered severe and damaging thunderstorms over western Russia, the Baltics and Ukraine yesterday. All the while low pressure and unusually cold air for July brought snowfall to the Alps while the UK catches a break of the heavy downpours of late.

A distinct N-W split during Saturday and Sunday with continued cool, breezy and some showers across NI and Scotland while it’s sunnier, less windy and warmer across bulk of England and Wales.

That N-S split appears to continue through early next week but by Wednesday, the model shows a low crossing the South of the UK/N France and this disturbed weather lifts north.
