GFS Has 3 Cold Shots Within 7 Days For East With Snow Down To NC/TN Mountains

Written by on May 3, 2016 in Spring 2016, United States of America with 0 Comments

Easterners will have to remain patient on the true arrival of summer. We still have snow on the charts and with a series of sharp May cold shots coming down, we could still see the white stuff as far south as the Smokies where a frost and freeze remains a threat.

GFS has snow in the West which isn’t that much of a surprise but it’s getting to the more unusual time of year (by no means unprecedented) further East.

We have the continuation of an active southern stream but the northern stream is reactivating and with waves dropping out of Canada, there’s potential phasing in the East to support not 1 but potentially 3 cold shots. First shot this Thursday, 2nd this weekend and 3rd late next week.
