Good afternoon. I’m pleased to say that our move into our new home ran very smoothly yesterday. It’s sure been a hectic past few days and really past few months but we’re in and now beginning a new chapter.

Thought I would nip up to my wife’s parents house to use the WIFI and bring a quick post. It gives me a break from unpacking and catches up a little on what’s going on weather wise.

While glancing at the latest models, I’m glad to see that we’re still on track for high pressure building over Ireland and the UK mid to late this week, albeit a slow process and as low pressure and rain spreads across N France/S England Sun/Mon. Then we sit sandwiched between low over Denmark and the 1032 high just off Ireland, by late week into next weekend, we lose to cool northerly flow and conditions turn much more settled with mild sun, little wind by day to cool, clear and cool nights.

With a cool high in place directly overhead, combined with longer nights, rural frost becomes more likely.

So, fronts and a chilly NE breeze commences the new working week and then we find a northerly flow takes us into the mid and late week all the while high pressure continues to strengthen just to our west. That system eventually moves overhead next week and looks to stay put well into the first half of September. Looks like my overall thinking has merit.

CFSv2 weekly builds the ridge in and holds it through the majority of September.

5-day mean 500mb height anomalies.

Temps remain below normal with northerly flow but it warms back above normal once the ridge core is overhead.

Everything should be largely back to Wednesday with videos once again as I expect to have broadband up and running at 12 midnight on Tuesday! Until then, stay tuned for written updates.
