Our latest low is progressing NE across the British Isles this morning and it’s been a real soaker here in Scotland and indeed across much of the UK.

While most areas clear, dry and turn sunny through this afternoon, rain, some of that heavy, lingers well into the PM hours across Southeast and East Anglia. We’ve also gales along the east English Channel coast. Heavy rain is also affecting northernmost France and eventually this pushes into Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark later.

While lows continue spinning around the northeast Atlantic trough, high pressure builds over the heart of Europe and so it remains fine, dry and seasonably warm but it may turn hot again mid to late week.

As one system clears and crosses Scandinavia, the next moisture-rich low sweeps into Southern England/Wales and northern France Thursday and this may present flooding issues.

Thursday’s system looks to affect more southernmost Britain and northern France, Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark. This clears and as high pressure continues to build westwards, it dries out and heats up for Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam. The next low moves into the UK bringing wind and further heavy rain. It looks to deepen as it lifts north over Scotland, expect cool winds on it’s backside but once this clears into Norway, high pressure finally settles in over the UK and Ireland and this should dominate through next week.
