The pattern is becoming much more summer-like as we head for mid June. The Bermuda high is strong now and in a westward position allowing temps to climb into the 90s from North Florida to New York City.
Rainfall in the open of June has been Southeast to Northeast focused but thanks to the strengthening of the SE ridge, that rain corridor is returning to a more central position and that looks likely to remain the case through the rest of the month.
There’s a distinct ‘ring of fire’ setup with heavy, training thunderstorms riding the western and northern flank of the ridge with the remains of Blanca on board and now crossing the Great Lakes.

While conditions shall begin cooling over the Northeast from NYC northward, temps are set to rise further down through Virginia into the Carolinas while the Gulf moisture plume opens up and threatens Texas and Louisiana with further flooding rains.
Upper heights are projected to go from 582 to nearer 590dm as we progress through this weekend into early next week.

Model clearly shows the rise into temps over the Southeast, especially the coastal Carolinas while it cools from NYC northwards.
