US: January ‘Warm-Up’ Looks Brief As Tanking -AO Promises More Arctic Blasts

Looks like a modest early week snow system for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast as yet another, albeit weaker high brings an additional cold shot into the nation.

While we have a warming trend over the next 7-10 days, there’s solid support now showing in the models for a return to the arctic pattern from the 20th on in response to the recent 10mb warming.

The AO is heading into the tank while NAO is for the first time, heading towards negative territory too.
