W EUROPE: Strat Warming Beginning To Show Over N Atlantic

Written by on November 9, 2014 in Rest of Europe, United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

While the Atlantic still rules the Western Europe pattern this upcoming work week, I’m finally beginning to see the first signs of a potential pattern shift and shift towards colder in the 1-2 week range.

We know the Arctic Oscillation is TANKING with a highly amplified pattern setting up. With slackening of the PV, arctic cold pools are breaking away from the pole and setting up in the mid-latitudes but the question is where?

Here’s the setup which bears watching for us here in WESTERN Europe.

1) Strat warming over the Atlantic

1 supports 2,  height rises from Greenland into Scandinavia (-NAO)

Another 3 systems bring wind and rain  into the UK but check out the build up of heights NORTH of the UK and especially over Scandinavia between 168 and 240 hours. This is a setup worth-a-watch.
