Part’s of Arizona including Phoenix are sitting at an astonishing 600% normal rainfall for the summer as seen by this NASA graphic.

Just at the beginning of last week, the remnants of (weaker) Norbert came up and brought the below scenes to Phoenix Metro and ALL-TIME record rainfall.

This was the track and QPF rainfall projections with Norbert. A seemingly worse case for SW flood potential.

Here’s the track of stronger and arguably ‘moister’ Odile.

This is what resulted!

Worse With Odile?

With similar track but greater moisture content and fuelled more by warm Gulf of California more, could we see a worst case scenario greater than last Monday? One of the greatest Arizona/Southwest flood disasters of all-time?

An almost identical track as Norbert!

The QPF grows WETTER and wetter and here’s the latest rainfall projections for the Southwest. Has a lot more moisture than with Norbert.

The very warm, near 90F water within the GOC (Gulf of Calf) may help fuel bigger rains more so than Norbert which worries me greatly!

Actual SST’s

Anomaly

While air temps decrease, so humidity increases and so the feel of the air may get worse despite lower air temps in the coming days.
