My garden is in need of some attention and I’ve no excuse today given this….

I’m home all day too.
What a spectacular start to Easter weekend. Hope your all having a good one so far whatever your doing. As I mentioned on today’s video. The biggest threat on Britain and much of Europe’s roads today, apart from other road users, will be sun glare thanks to a nice ridge of high pressure building in from the Atlantic.

I have to admit one thing. I most certainly didn’t expect it to be nearly as sunny as it is. I’m happy to call it a bust.
Here’s the current surface pattern across Europe. The cloud and some rain that we saw yesterday here over the UK is now pushing through Denmark, the Low countries and Germany but this clears as the ridge now presenting wall to wall sunshine over the UK will bring sunshine tomorrow to areas under cloud today.

The unsettled, chilly weather stubbornly remains over parts of Italy, the Balkans into Greece and Turkey but it’s warm and sunny further north up through Ukraine, Russia west into Poland and here, temps rise in the coming days as high pressure strengthens.
Tomorrow sees a little more cloud over the UK but should stay dry with plenty of mild sunshine. Always that bit cooler at the coast.

Sunday sees some change. The boundary that dove south over the UK and North Sea yesterday will see development along this seemingly decaying wave of energy. The Netherlands and parts of Germany remain a little cool and unsettled today and tomorrow but by Sunday, they turn sunny but the system that’s redeveloping or developing backs west as ridging over E Europe builds west.
A pretty decent little circulation is seen over the English Channel this Easter Sunday and it will bring wind, rain and cooler conditions to southern England and perhaps Wales. It’s unknown how far north and west the cloud and rain will get. Further north and it’s mostly sunny skies, mild and dry thanks to high pressure.

That little low looks to push cloudier skies and some precip north across a broader area of the UK and Ireland early next week.

Cooler mid and upper level air spreading across Iberia will react to strong surface warming and thus pop-up showers and thunderstorms will likely increase widely into early next week. We’ll also see showers and thunderstorm bubbling up over many central parts of the continent also as warmth builds from Bulgaria and Ukraine westwards.

The models shows Atlantic weather returning to the UK mid to late next week but high pressure also strengthens over northern Europe, really extending from Scotland to Russia, so it’s going to be interesting to see how much influence the Atlantic has next week.
