Scotland

The glorious fine, dry and settled conditions covering Scotland looks to continue through much of this week with abundant sunshine lasting through at least Wednesday. The dry conditions look to last throughout the week with just a small threat of shower activity, mainly confined to the far north.

Enjoy highs of 6-8C by day but under clear skies and light winds by night, expect a frost with towns and cities dipping to 0 or -1C, rural areas could go as low as -8C.

England

The rather benign, stuck pattern remains across England with a cold ENE flow continuing to drag in heavy cloud cover and beneath those cloud skies, the air will struggle to warm much past 4-5C but by night, without those clear skies, temperatures hold up above freezing, though it will still feel cold, especially in the breeze. Some light showers and drizzle will continue to feed in off the North Sea but all in all it remains dry.

While it stays mostly cloudy through Wednesday, pressures build mid to late week and so brighter skies should build down from Scotland Thursday. Expect milder temperatures but a return to cold and frosty nights.

Wales

Heavy cloud continues to cover Wales today through probably Wednesday thanks to a cold NE flow feeding air in from Norway. While days stay fairly cold, the clouds keep temps up by night with only the highest ground dropping to freezing, 1-3C at low levels. There’s a chance of some light and patchy showers but on the whole, the dry spell continues. A chance appears to come Thursday and no it’s not rain but more in the way of sun. Expect milder daytime temps but a return to cold and frosty nights.

Northern Ireland

The fine, dry and settled conditions continue right across Northern Ireland with another cold and frosty one to come tonight with lows ranging from 0 to -2C in towns, -3, perhaps -4C in rural areas.

Highs tomorrow reach the average of 6-8C under mostly sunny skies.. The remainder of the week is looking largely fine, dry and settled.

Ireland

The fine, dry and settled conditions will continue through the remainder of this week with a mix of sun and cloud by day and temps near average at 6-8C. Nights will likewise see a mix of clear skies and cloud. Where clear, expect a frost with lows near -2C, where cloud, +2C.
