Good morning to you from beautiful Savannah, GA on a comfortably cool morning. Days are unusually warm down here with a high yesterday right around 80 degrees here. It was a record breaking 76 degrees up in Atlanta well to my north. While slightly cooler but well above average still in Atlanta, today shall be equally as warm here in Savannah. I’m heading up to Hilton Head, SC today so should be a nice beach day. Amazing to be saying that in mid-January when there is snow back home in the UK.

Speaking of cold, it is darn cold Out West with Phoenix, AZ right now sitting at 32 degrees and that is colder than up in Anchorage would you believe where it’s only 36 degrees. It’s a frosty 26 degrees right now in Las Vegas, -2 in Flagstaff and a very cold 19 degrees in El Paso. While it’s still early, these cities could well drop another few degrees before sunrise.

Check out the extent and level of cold covering a good half of the country this morning.

Today, while warm again throughout the Southeast and up the East Coast, it’s going to be unusually cold Out West with a cold high of just 36 degrees in Las Vegas and only 48 degrees in Phoenix. Yes, there is a lot of talk about how mild or warm it is in the East but there is some impressive cold all the way into northern Mexico today.
