High 42 degrees (1.37pm) Low 23 degrees (8.47am)
RAIN/SNOW: None
Snowcover: Covering
A mild afternoon under brilliant late January sunshine with only the odd cloud on the horizon. The coldest morning in 21 days when the low was 22 degrees on the 9th. An overnight which saw the temp drop to 26 then rise to 29 with winds blowing at an average of 8 mph out of the W-NW which produced an average windchill of 19 degrees, Winds let up after 4am and allowed remaining warmth at the surface which was thanks to mixing of the wind, release back to space in the calmer lower atmosphere and so the temperature dropped to 23 degrees just after sunrise. A cool night ahead with clear skies, a bright moon and light winds. Expected low tonight down to between 19-21 degrees which is achievable since we are one of the few places in this region to have snow on the ground and therefore the cooldest readings could be found in this area thanks to the reflective snowcover.
