An overnight under clear skies and surface fog allowed temps to fall below freezing and the moisture from the fog, formed heavy frost and sheets of ice where water lay from the previous night’s rainfall. Dangerous sheets of ice created a serious hazard on many roads across the region this morning. A day under mostly cloudy skies and a cool breeze made it feel some 10 degrees lower than yesterday’s abundant, mild sunshine. Tonight a fresh east wind is making it feel raw outside as we have an air temp in the upper 30s and may fall towards 34 by morning, A windchill likely will fall into the mid-20s overnight tonight.
