As the cold pattern continues for the UK which is NO SURPRISE as this winter pattern was forecast for the UK by this blogger since Nov 1 officially and since summer unofficially, newspapers are already starting to release the idea that this winter is becoming the worst in 25 years… More snowfall continues to create havoc throughout Britain, if not cancelling New Year celebrations in Inverness it’s creating hellish travel for those fighting to return home from visiting family over the festive period.
Last Winter in the UK was the Starter, This winter is the Main Course!!

    >I agree that this weather is as wintry as we would expect in this period of global warming here in UK. I have memories of frequent like snowfalls and temperates as low as this in the 1990s, and likewise in the 1980s. I can't comment on 1970s as I was not around back then.
I do remember as a child, we had a 6 inch coating of snow on bonfire night in Kennoway. These snowfalls are no worse than what I experienced as a child, but the length of the cold snap is the surprising element as well as the low temperatures realised with the snow cover.
