Dense fog held overnight temperatures at around the freezing mark rather than dropping, where skies were clearer, that allowed the temperature to drop off, but with such a moist air within the fog, it became slippery. An overall good day with generally sunny skies with some passing high clouds, many lowlying (valley) areas particularly near bodies of water, the fog lingered throughout the day and held temperatures down where the sun could not get to.
