Ok,
This is a slightly different post. I am looking for all those of you who regularly or not so regularly visit my blog to tell me what kind of winter you had in your part of Europe LAST WINTER (2008-2009).
Those of you from Holland, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Spain, France, Portugal, I see there are a few of you, how would you describe your winter, did you get a lot of snow? How much colder was it than normal?
Those of you from the cold interior of central Europe, how cold did you get in the worst of last winter?
Anyone from the Alps? Have you photos or record snow to talk about??
PLEASE email me or comment underneath this post!!. In order to release my Europe Winter Forecast on October 31, I am looking for YOUR contribution, you will be credited in my official forecast if you provide me with memories of winter from across Europe!
Thanks
-Mark

>Last winter provided many short lived snowfalls here in eastern scotland. The snowfalls were not heavy, but even at my home by the sea, the frequency of the snowfalls that covered the ground surprised me. It was not cold enough for the snow to last a significant period of time, despite the high pressure. It was mostly cold and dry for most of the winter (plenty of high pressure systems). it was so cold that I saw a local loch (Lochgelly) freeze over twice during the winter.
