BREAKING NEW HEADLINES: STATION FIRE DOUBLES FROM 35, 000 TO 85,000 ACRES OVERNIGHT AS COMMUNICATION ACROSS THE LOS ANGELES BASIN IS THREATENED AS INFERNO NEARS TRANMITTERS ON TOP OF MT WILSON!
Lack of wind flow throughout the area is creating more buil-up of smoke into the atmosphere and hampering firefighting efforts. Intense heat and copious amounts of fuel throughout tinder brush and chaparral have created a situation of devastation as intense fires expand and threaten more and more homes. Topography and locations of homes on steep, dry canyons makes it tough for the firefighters as well as the warm nights and daytime brutalising heat which brought widespread 100s across Los Angeles valleys as well as 101 and 100 degree afternoons in Downtown LA on Friday and Saturday.

These are terrifying days for millions across Southern California and the Greater Los Angeles basin as the fires that rage across particularly the north side of LA threaten communication and TV signals throughout the LA area. Firefighters relentlessly are trying to save the fire destroying not only thousands of homes but the transmition towers on top of Mt Wilson. Television and Radio stations as well as police and fire radio dispatch all rely on those towers. If the towers burn, those who rely on on-air viewing, may loose their signal but those who have cable or satellite should still be ok.
My heart goes out to those families of the firefighters who died.
MORE COMING UP SOON….
Thanks for reading.
