Valencia, Spain enjoys balmy 26.6C, warmest January day since 1869

Courtesy of a deep Atlantic low, Western Europe is back in the milder SW flow. Recent days has seen the Spanish Costas enjoy unusual January warmth of mid to upper 20s (C).

Sunday saw Valencia soar to 26.4C, making for the hottest January day on record.

The following day Valencia reached an even higher 26.6C setting a new January record high from the previous day. Records date back to 1869.
