The Arctic hammer is ready to drop on the Midwest and East next week so enjoy this weekend’s warmth…

Here’s a look at the GFS sur/prec charts starting Tue of next week with the first of two waves driving SE behind a storm system which will bring leading edge heavy rains followed by heavy snows. Maybe some backside snow even for the Big Cities of the I-95.

I’ve stated for long enough that the tremendous warmth is living on borrowed time given the near perfect blocking teleconnection over the high latitudes.

Here comes stronger wave no 2 behind a clipper.

Expect the tracks to be laid ahead of the Arctic expressive. Snowfall should whiten the ground ahead of each surge.
