Thanks to the continuation of a highly active Pacific storm pattern, severe weather season 2017 is well and truly here across the Southern Tier while old man winter ain’t giving up without a fight across the Northern Tier. However, lows sliding west-east is allowing the clash of cold over Canada and distinctly summer-like warmth and humidity across the South to merge, fuelling all the severe weather. Something not seen in a few years due to either a warm or cold dominated pattern. Enhancement to the severe weather could of course be contributed to a record warm GOM.
