Heat Gives Way To Tropical Rains

As we progress into the start of a new work week, a plume of rich tropical moisture is lifting up into Florida and shall break the heat throughout the Southeast over the next few days as showers and thunderstorms become widespread.

Most of the Southeast should see at least 1″ of rain through the next 5 days.

One last ‘hot’ day today.

AccuWeather

Moist air entering a hot, humid air mass shall trigger widespread showers and thunderstorms which shall temper the heat significantly but increase the flood or flash flood risk.

Greatest rain totals will indeed be over Florida.

The wetter and therefore cooler weather shall progress northwards up the eastern side of the country as the week goes on.

This will be great for the drought in parts of Florida, Southeast and indeed even the southern plains.

On top of the widespread heavy rains, there’s a 40% chance of tropical development in the NE Gulf.
