It was an interesting weather day yesterday with nearly 6 inches of rain falling across the West Highlands with multiple road closures due to flooding and landslides while Northeast Ireland’s Co Down took the prize for UK warm spot so far.
Here’s the scene along the closed A85 this morning following the deluge of the past 36 hours.

Unsurprisingly, winter turned out warmer than normal across Europe and around average for the UK. Slightly above over the snow starved Southeast while a tough colder in the Northwest of Scotland and West Coast Ireland. This winter reminded me very much of a 90s style winter.
