First Major DC To Boston Snowstorm… Blizzard?

Written by on January 25, 2015 in United States of America, Winter 2014/15 with 0 Comments

I was taking today off but based on latest model snowfall print out’s, I had to throw up a few charts. It looks like we have a major snowstorm on the way for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Especially the coastal Northeast and I-95. With models printing out 6-12, locally 12-24″ amounts even for the Big Cities, this could shut down the cities for a day or two. The cold which follows could be equally as impressive. More snow systems follow this storm too.

The ECMWF ‘bombs out’ off the coast, hammering the cities and likely shutting them down!

GFS still shows snowstorm but not the crippler the ECMWF or NAM shows. Note though it has 12″ bulls eye on the south side of Boston.
