It’s been a snowy morning here and across many parts of Scotland as well as Ireland and Northern Ireland thanks to Canadian-Arctic air driven in on the backside of Monday’s low pressure system. These systems are forming over North America and crossing the North Atlantic but dragging very cold, arctic air with it. Sure, the air mass significantly warms as it crosses over 2,500 miles of 4-6C ocean but it’s so cold to start with, it maintains enough chill to bring widespread, disruptive snow here!
