A strong southerly flow triggered from a deep low spinning over Italy pulled a vast plume of Saharan dust northwards off Libya out over the Med turning many islands a dusty, orange Thursday morning. Crete’s sky resembled Kuwait or Iraq in the midst of an intense sandstorm.
