Saharan Dust Smoothers Med Islands Incl Crete, Cyprus All The Way To Russia

A strong southerly flow triggered from a deep low spinning over Italy pulled a vast plume of Saharan dust northwards off Libya out over the Med turning many islands a dusty, orange Thursday morning. Crete’s sky resembled Kuwait or Iraq in the midst of an intense sandstorm.

As well as dusty, it was also very warm.
