Historic Week Of Snow & Cold For The Northeast

The latest/current snowstorm hammering the Northeast has now dumped nearly 20″ on an already buried Boston. Seasonal totals are now topped 73.9″ and they’ve now entered the top 10 list for snowiest winters.

This on-going MULTIDAY snowstorm has potential to break Boston’s all-time record for most snow in a single event.

As of this afternoon, according to some sources, Boston topped a new all-time record snow depth of 37″, surpassing the old record of 31″ set back in Jan 1996. That was the winter which saw 107″ of snow, setting a new seasonal record.

Boston has also broken a 30-day snow total record with 61.6″ falling, surpassing the old record of 58.8″ set back in the infamous winter of 1978.
