NEW RECORD: Caribou, Maine: 157 days & counting with at least 1″ of snow on ground

Written by on April 15, 2019 in United States of America with 0 Comments

Today marks the 157th day where Caribou, Maine has had at least 1 inch of snow on the ground. This breaks the previous record of 155 days set back in the winter of 2002-03. You have to go right back to November 10th when there wasn’t at least an inch of snow on the ground.

Despite being April 15th with an ever strengthening sun, Caribou has just dropped below 1-foot snow depth for the first time since December 31st with now 11 inches of snow on the ground.

In 2008, Caribou witnessed a streak of 152 days with at least 1 inch on the ground which is now third place.

It should be of no real surprise that the above record has come in a big winter for snowfall.
