The strongest storm of the winter has plowed into California bringing a widespread 3-6 inches of rain from north to south below 4,000ft. This heavy rain has resulted in flooding.

The greatest rain total appears to be around Big Sur with 10.52 inches but even around the LA Basin we saw 2-4 widely.
Motorists can expect an extended closure of Highway 162 between 1st St. and County Rd 9 in Willows because of storm-related flooded. Please use alternate routes. The roadway will reopen as soon as flood waters recede and the highway is safe for travel. #TrafficAlert pic.twitter.com/JexmPmhb7l

Winds with this storm has been equally as impressive thanks to the strength of low. Big Black Rock in Marin County observed a gust of 98 mph. Trees and minor structural damage was reported in exposed areas.
Up in the high Sierra and it was snow as well as the wind which has been impressive.
So too have the winds over the ridges.
