It’s turned November-like over the western Prairies of Canada and this looks to be a hint of what’s to come further south as we depart Sept and say hello to Oct. Note the ridge building into AK.

How far east the cold trough gets remains to be seen.

Interestingly the operational shows low pressure moving east across the Dakotas and Minnesota and this opens the door to an early cold shot.
