Sub-Tropical Storm Alberto becomes 5th system in last 7 years to form Prior to June 1

Subtropical storm Alberto has formed in the western Caribbean off the Yucatan and promises to track north towards the US Gulf Coast hammering Memorial Day weekend for beachgoers.

Not the best of afternoon’s in Cancun due to the presence of Alberto just off to the east.

Pre June 1 development has happened often over the last 7 years.

With the aid of warmer than normal waters, Alberto could become quite strong over the Gulf.

In an already ‘tropical moisture’ rich pattern for Florida and Southeast, Alberto promises even more rain and an increasing flash flood risk through the Memorial Day weekend.
