The 3rd Nor’Easter in less than 2 weeks was a record breaker for Boston and other southern New England communities. It was Boston’s first ‘blizzard’ since February of last year.
As the latest powerful Nor’Easter which dropped nearly 30″ of snow and 80+mph winds in parts of Massachusetts lifts into the Maritimes and continues to blast Maine, Boston is digging out from 14.5 inches of snow. This is the most 1-day snow on record for the city.
This system also takes 2nd place for biggest March snowstorm for Boston.
Wilmington, MA fell just shy of 30″ for this storm.
Those onshore gusts of 81 mph generated wave heights of 25ft not far to the east of Boston and nearly 30ft off Maine and nearly 40 off Nova Scotia.
