The vicious combination of gale-force winds and snowfall created white out conditions across parts of the Highland road network Wednesday. Atrocious conditions were observed in the hills where gusts exceeded 100 mph over the Cairngorms.
The worst affected area was along the A82 between Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. The A9 was also subject to serious blowing and drifting with, like the highly exposed stretch of the A82, the A9 at Dalwhinnie also saw vehicles getting stuck.

@trafficscotland Dash cam footage of yesterdays snow drift Glencoe, A82. It went from good visibility on a wet, treated road, to this in the space of 1/3 of a mile. It was sudden. A warning to drivers using that road… it can be unpredictable. pic.twitter.com/SZwLSn1yUs
