Historic 2017-18 US Arctic Outbreak continues

Without a doubt, the Arctic Outbreak from December 23 through Jan 3 which continues is one of the greatest for the period on record from the Plains to East Coast.

While countless daily records for cold maximums and minimums, many cities recorded their coldest Christmas since 2000, most recorded their coldest ever New Years Eve/Day on record.

It was for many cities, the coldest or 2nd coldest final week of a December on record and or coldest Christmas to New Year period on record.

Prior to New Year, North Dakota observed the coldest daytime maximums since January 2004 and longest streak below zero since 2004.
