Atlantic low pressure to see out October

Written by on October 4, 2017 in Rest of Europe, Summer 2017, United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

Our pattern has been pretty much unsettled since August and it doesn’t look as though that will change through the rest of October. That also suggests no return to warmth and equally no arrival of winter either.

It’s a pattern which one can expect one day of wet and blustery followed by drier, brighter but also cooler with a risk of frost by night.

CFSv2 weeklies says the Icelandic low remains in the driving seat. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get a couple of storms mid to late month, perhaps a 2nd or 3rd named storm from MO.

Wetter than normal coincides with the continuation of low dominance.
