Nearly 72 hours after Hurricane Harvey came ashore as America’s strongest hurricane since 2004, the system continues to bring utter misery to Texans.
Harvey’s wind with gusts in excess of 130 mph has caused significant damage in a focused area around Rockport, Port Lavaca and Port Aransas where the eyewall came ashore at 10pm Thursday but the intense and incredibly persistent rainfall continues, causing extreme flooding across a vast area stretching hundreds of square miles.

The city of Houston, no stranger to flooding is likely in the midst of it’s biggest rainstorm and flooding event in history. The entire city is pretty much under water with many areas submerged by some 10-20ft.
Much of metro Houston has received 2 ft of rain with 2 days with some suburbs crippled by 35 inches!

To reiterate, if the forecast verifies this would rival an all-time U.S. storm total rainfall record. #houstonflood #Harvey pic.twitter.com/ulnjyXSk1j
