Given the intensity of the Southwest heat wave, it should be of no surprise that some southwestern cities recorded their hottest June in recorded history.

Meanwhile on the other side of the country, a persistent plume of rich Caribbean moisture directed straight at Florida essentially wiped out Florida’s drought.
