MID ATL/NORTHEAST: From 30s & frost to traditional 80s & 90s for 4th of July weekend

The cool, crisp and even frosty conditions witnessed on the Plains and Midwest a few days ago was centred over the Northeast into the central Appalachians yesterday.


Not everyday do you start off a day at the end of June in the mid to upper 30s even in the mountains.

The cool start gave way to a cool day and well below normal.

While the trough has led to chilly conditions for late June, typical end of June warmth has been spreading from the Southwest through the Rockies towards the N Plains. In between, a system responsible for a rather significant severe weather day yesterday with widespread wind and hail reports as well as over 20 tornadoes.


Temps rise sharp in the East through the weekend.
