Another weekend and a miserable Mother’s Day coming up for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. A Nor’easter will develop during Saturday bringing persistent moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds touching gale-force, especially along the coast.

Winds grow strongest along New England coast.

Feeling distinctly raw from DC to Boston. Expect to see local flooding and surface water on roadways as 2-3 inches is expected widely.

Rainfall over the next 7 days.

Might be mid-May but there’s more rain/snow headed for California

As for soggy California, since we’re approaching mid May, you’d expect to see the storms lift north and high pressure to become more of a player by now. However, there is yet another Pacific system eyeing California mid next week with more rain for San Francisco down to Los Angeles. Additional heavy snow up in the buried High Sierra.
