UK/EUROPE: Following Warm March, Looks Like April Will Turn Out Cold, Except Spain!

As we look out through the next 7-10 days or the remainder of April, it looks like the high to the west, low to the east setup sticks around with additional waves of late season arctic air dropping south.

The current cold shot was a glancing blow for UK but over Germany and Poland it’s been more like mid winter rather than mid spring.

In stark contrast to the snow and cold covering central Europe, we witnessed record heat in southern Spain and Morocco yesterday.

Following a warm March across most of the continent, it looks like April is sure to turn out cold across the north including UK, Low Countries, Germany, Poland, Russia and Scandinavia but warm across Iberia and Med.

More importantly (for summer interests) it’s looking dry too.

Note the CFS indicates a warmer than normal front running 7 days but colder following.
