FREE: UK & EUROPE HALLOWEEN FORECAST 2016 (INCLUDES VIDEO)

Written by on October 29, 2016 in Autumn 2016, Rest of Europe, United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

Halloween in recent years have been anything but cold, in fact record warm and while there’s no records under threat this year, the mild theme continues thanks to high pressure with moist south/southwest winds which hold day and night temperatures above normal.

This year is looking similar to last year with low pressure west and high pressure east which allowed winds to blow from the south. The year before, in 2014 the UK witnessed it’s warmest Halloween on record with Gravesend, Kent soaring to a July-like 23.6C which smashed the old record of 20.0C set in Dartford, Kent back in 1968 and tied in parts of Greater London back in 1989.

While Halloween was mild last year, November 2015 opened with a new UK monthly record with a high of 22.4C set in Trawsgoed, Wales.

So, heading out trick or treating with the kids tonight, Sunday or indeed Halloween night? After decent days of very usable weather, a mix of cloud and bright spells and rain largely confined to west or northern parts, expect much the same after dark with plenty of cloud but little rain. Again the exception being the west and northwest of the UK. Expect evening temps to hold nicely in the 12-14C, especially in town.

This afternoon has seen a high top a late August-like 19C in Hull with the help of downsloping off the Pennines.
