TYPHOON MERANTI TO HELP MAINTAIN SUMMER PATTERN OVER EASTERN US

Written by on September 17, 2016 in Summer 2016, Tropical, United States of America with 0 Comments

Often at this time of year when summer draws to a close, we look thousands of miles out across the Pacific and when there’s typhoons roaming the western basin, US meteorologists pay attention.

With the help of a due west track of once Super Typhoon Meranti, summer lives on across the Eastern US and this warm pattern continues through the forthcoming workweek.

However as we approach the September’s closing week, long range models suggest Typhoon Malakas recurves, staying east of Asia and heads north, this signals a trough and cooler weather into at least the Central US, the question is does it reach the East?
